Society Profile
The Society was formed in 1956. Currently it has about 300 members who are private medical practitioners with higher medical qualifications. The following non-surgical specialties are represented: Internal Medicine (with various subspecialties), Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Radiology, and Family Medicine. About 300 doctors join as associate members.
The objectives of the Society are:
(i) | To promote fellowship among physicians in private practice who are specialists in Internal Medicine or any branch of Internal Medicine. |
(ii) | To encourage a high standard of medicine and medical ethics among members. |
(iii) | To promote and exchange scientific knowledge and practical experience among members. |
The Society holds over 20 functions (total exceeds 50 hours) annually usually in the form
of lectures or other forms of scientific meetings.
